Pictorial Meadows Seed

We grew this last year and loved it. It looks like a child’s dream of a forever flowering meadow.
It is not a wildflower meadow because it has no grasses and uses many non-native species in
order to maximize the visual impact, flowering from June to the end of October, changing colour as species come and go.

We took these photos over the course of the wholle summer. Every month it looked different as different annual came into flower. Even in the long sunless cold rainy summer we had last year it looked great. Every colour in the rainbow and lots of butterflies and insects as well.

You have to prepare the ground well, getting rid of all the weeds, rake it over to a fine tilth, then sprinkle the seed on in April. Quite a bit of work, but then just walk away and wait for it to bloom. You can do a whole bed, or use it to fill in round new plants. Looks great with a few perennial grasses emerging through it. The annual weeds which come up get lost in the mix. I did not bother to weed it all summer apart from a couple of sowthistles. Generally about 24” high, it flopped over by September, but continued to bloom. They are mostly hardy annuals and some will reseed, but in order to get the best effect, you should resow every year.

One 6 gram pack is enough to sow 2.5 square metres (approximately 5.5 feet by 5.5 feet).
Each pack costs £4.

To buy see Seed List with Pictures. Please ring to ask for prices for bulk packs.

Delivery is £1 for any number of packs (£1.50 postage to Europe, £2.50 postage elsewhere) and they can be ordered in conjunction with my other seeds. Bulk prices available.
