One of the most beautiful herbaceous Paeonies. Large pale lemon (occasionally pale pink) bowl-shaped flowers in late spring. Grey green rounded leaves. Young shoots are red in spring. Seed pods open to reveal deep blue fertile and bright red infertile seeds. Shade tolerant (3 seeds)
To speed germination - Soak seed overnight, then mix with damp vermiculite and keep at room temperature (in glass jar or plastic bag) until root emerges (1-3 months). Then keep cold (fridge or outdoors) till shoot appears (2-3 months). Prick out immediately and grow on in the light. Otherwise likely to be 18 months before shoot appears.
3 seeds per packet (approx).
