Tall stems of orange, red or salmon flowers with a yellow throat. Sword-like clmps of foliage. Winter dormant. Prefers moist sun, but tolerates drought. Primary parent of most modern hybrid Gladiolus. Said to be hardy in the UK, but bulbs should be planted deeply to help protect them.
