Radicchio, 'Rossa di Verona'

The classic brilliant red drumhead radicchio. Best sown midsummer. Likes to grow in cooler weather. Some may heart up in the autumn. If not, dig up the roots, cut off the leaves (leaving about 1") and plant 3 or 4 in a big pot. Cover with another pot and bring into a cool dark place to force. Should be ready in 2-3 weeks
