Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris var. vulgaris

Thick white stalks with dark green leaves. Useful spinach substitute. Leaves best cooked separately from stalks. Better flavour than the coloured varieties. Can be harvested for several months. Late summer sowings can be overwintered with protection.
