Pretty white flowers on upright stems. Fragrant glossy leaves. Can set fire to the aromatic oils above the plant on still summer days. Slow to establish, but long-lived. Sap can irritate skin if exposed to sunlight 2-3ft

| Germination: | Sow in autumn, overwinter outdoors, germinates in spring. Or mix seed with damp vermiculite, keep warm 3 weeks, put in fridge 6 weeks, then sprinkle mix on compost and put in cool light place |

Soak seed for 24 hours. Sow, or mix with damp vermiculite, and keep warm for 6 weeks, then keep cold for 3 months, then gradually increase temperature to moderate. May have to repeat. Be patient
