Young stems like fat purple-flushed spears coming straight up out of the ground. Young foliage purple, arching over at the tip. Creamy white dangling bells in spring, purple-black berries in autumn. Elegant arching more or less evergreen foliage. Likes shade and humus. 3-4ft
