Pineapple relative from Chile. Extraordinary chartreuse flowers with orange stamens. Slow-growing, may take 10-20 years to flower. Long narrow evergreen leaves lined with sharp spines. Protect from frost first few years, becomes gradually hardier so that at maturity will take 7C. Needs sun and good drainage 8-12ft
